Our Philosophy
Our primary concern is to provide an environment and experiences to help children grow in all areas of development including fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, social, and emotional development. Preschool children attain knowledge best by doing, not by being told, and allowing each individual child to progress at their own pace is crucial.
We will also have an emphasis on art, music, and drama, as well as helping the child deal honestly with such emotional feelings as occurs in the life of the child.

Inclement Weather Policy
The JCPC inclement weather policy is as follows; Decisions regarding closings, delays and early closings will be made by the teacher based on conditions near JCPC and in surrounding areas. Please be sure to check your e-mail for announcements specifically concerning JCPC.
Cancellation
Teacher will e-mail parents prior to school day to inform you of closings. We follow the Spring Grove School District. So, if they are closed, we are closed.
If Spring Grove Schools are on a 2-hour delay, JCPC runs 9:30-11:00, (a one hour delay with no snack time).
*We do not make up snow days.
*We do not reimburse tuition because of lost days due to inclement weather.
Please note that this policy is stated, in the Student Handbook, that you received before the school-year begins.
Our enrollment policy and requirements are as follows:
Potty Training
Children must be potty-trained or in the process of potty-training. We understand accidents can happen even when a child is fully potty-trained, but we expect all students to:

3’s Preschool Class: Children must be three years old. The teacher may make exception on a provisional basis.
4-5’s Kindergarten Prep Class: Children must be five years old by the kindergarten-entering date of the child’s local school district (September 1st in many school districts). The teacher may make exception on a provisional basis.

During the school year, normal school hours are Monday through Friday, 9am-11:30am. We also recommend you review our Student Handbook, which outlines our philosophy and policies. - We are a non-profit organization located in Trinity Lutheran Church just east of the square in Jefferson. The center is operated by an independent board made up of church members, parents, and community members. The Pre-School is self-supporting.

- Be able to stay dry for long periods of time during the day
- Be able to manage all aspects of bathroom use or be able and willing to ask for help
